concrete test model

Flaked attractions in abandoned luna parks capture the imagination. Like Berlin's Spreepark in Plänterwald, a relic of the Soviet era. Daria projected a hospital here with a democratic, rather utopian, circular floor plan, using existing foundations. With additional functions such as a library and café, the hospital is culturally charged. In the design process, concrete models offered a grip on this, despite the trees, quite brutalist environment, where World War II still seems to linger in the branches. They lent themselves to the smallest scale and breathed the same atmosphere as the site. In general, making models is a way to explore your curiosity. Such studies can be amorphous or hyper-personal. They aren’t final products, but abstract reflections of a train of thought.
