In Ilse's family, this bracelet has been passed down for four generations with the message: hard work and a big heart pay off. Ilse's great-grandmother got it from the elderly lady for whom she did the housework - to earn some extra money - as a token of thanks for her commitment and affection. She stopped doing this when she became pregnant. From ‘grandmother’, the bracelet passed on to Ilse's grandmother Bets, who gave it to Ilse's mother Ineke, after which it ended up with Ilse.
