Bamboo is hollow, lightweight and a strong material. The stakes of the plant are themselves a tube, meant to store and distribute water in daily cycles. Therefore, with just a few minor modifications, bamboo is already suitable for a function as a toothbrush tube. This new function builds on the function for the plant, making the toothbrush tube actually a collaboration between plant and human. The tube shows that natural materials do not necessarily need extensive processing and are actually often more beautiful without it.
