Around the age of five, Ivan got his first Tangram puzzle, just like his father before him. The set with two large, one medium and two small triangles, a square and a parallelogram immediately proved magical. In total, some 6500 unique compositions can be laid with it. Ivan's first figure was a house, but the link with architecture rather lies in the kit-of-parts-like nature of Tangram. Architecture is about assembling and finding order. If everything falls into place, it is as exciting as solving a mathematical equation.
