cepezed’s Building D(emountable) will once again be learning material for students. In the summer of 2019, the building was already the focus of a circularity competition for members of the Delft study association Stylos. Now, it will be subject within the Structural Glass course of the Delft master's program Building Engineering.
The course starts on February 11 with an explanation of the building by cepezed architect Doris Harding. Subsequently, teacher Chris Noteboom will work with the students on new designs with a constructive role for glass. Among other things, they will examine the advantages and consequences of load-bearing glass facades. Just like Building D(emountable) itself, the new designs must be modular in nature.
For a month and a half, the approximately thirty students will receive four hours of lecture on structural design with glass every week. Additionally, they will work on their designs for four hours a week. The results will be presented at the beginning of April.
