Coming Thursday evening June 6th, cepezed architect and partner Ronald Schleurholts will give a lecture on daylight in architecture. The lecture evening in the Amsterdam-based Borneo Architecture Center (BAC) accompanies the exhibition Daylighthouse there and is organized in collaboration with the Dutch Daylight Foundation.
‘Daylighthouse’ is curated by Mirck Architecture and tells the story of three houses designed by this office in which daylight has a leading role. By means of diagrams, drawings, photos, models, film material and building physical visualizations, the three houses are exhibited, compared with each other and with three other projects: a canal house from the past, the Borneo patio houses from the present, and ‘daylight housing’ in the future.
Curator Sander Mirck starts the lecture evening with an explanation of the exhibition and his vision on daylight in houses and how this can contribute to a healthier life. Schleurholts discusses the role of daylight in a broader perspective and illustrates cepezed-designs for KWR Watercycle Research Institute, state office De Knoop, Brussels Environment and the monumental complex in Delft in which cepezed has an office now.
Construction innovator, transition strategist and founder of the Dutch Daylight Foundation Atto Harsta opened the exhibition on Friday May 10th. The exhibition can be seen until July 13th. For more information, also see www.bac-amsterdam.nl
