key circular building economy
Removability is developing into one of the keys to the circular building economy, according to the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC), which developed an index of removability. The Temporary Court Amsterdam was one of the pilot projects for this. Practical experience has taught us that ease of release is at the basis of various circular building principles. Think of high-quality reuse of building products, adaptive construction, circular management and maintenance and the possible application of circular earning models', according to the DGBC.

Tomorrow afternoon the organisation will host a webinar on the detachability of buildings and their residual value. One of the guests will be Menno Rubbens, who received the award for 'Circular Hero' last Monday during this Week of Circular Economy, in recognition of his years of dedication to circular enterprise. And the dismantling and relocation of the Temporary Court Amsterdam in particular. As director of cepezedprojects, a subsidiary of cepezed, he won the tender for the construction of this project together with Du Prie bouw & ontwikkeling.
about the temporary court of justice amsterdam
The Temporary Court Amsterdam is a unique project. During the renovation and new construction of the present court, a replacement building had to be erected which was of high quality in terms of material and construction and which felt comfortable; it had to make way again after five years; with as little waste as possible. The clever remountable design came from cepezed.
It has been designed in such a way that the building can be easily dismantled (without a demolition hammer) and rebuilt elsewhere. With this, cepezedprojects and Du Prie bouw & ontwikkeling won the tender. Lagemaat BV is responsible for the current phase: the dismantling in Amsterdam, which officially started on 9 November with the loosening of the first nut, and the brake assembly in Enschede.
