Last weekend, the future residents of 't Eemgoed near Almere-Oosterwold were able to already take a look there; on the estate and in the houses under construction themselves. The viewing day was the first time they could enter the construction site since last year's strict COVID measures.
new way of living
't Eemgoed is a special housing project initiated by 2OPEN, which also developes it in combination with cepezedprojects. It was designed by architectural firm cepezed and built under the coordination of cepezedbouwteam. The project consists of eight curved longhouses with a total of 82 homes, which are loosely arranged in a green environment of more than seven hectares. The homes have a special typology with a sloping, landscaped roof, which means that all dwellings look out onto greenery. 'Living in connection with the earth and each other' is the starting point of the village estate. That is why the communal Eemhuis and ten large landscape rooms are part of the plan as well. The residents also had a lot of say in the development.
sustainable and natural
The realization is now taking increasingly concrete form. For the future residents, the images and drawings of their new home really came to life. About fifty households visited the day and were able to get a good idea about their upcoming living environment. It allowed them to experience the dimensions and layouts of the living areas, they were given an explanation of the realization process and they already got a sense of the longhouses' embedding in rich greenery.
