Station area Sint-Niklaas 

The station area in the Flemish city of Sint-Niklaas was an unpleasant place to be at the beginning of the millennium. cepezed designed and supervised an urban master plan and reorganized the public space. We also renovated the station building and designed a bicycle parking facilities for the station square.

New traffic flows  

Traffic in the station area has been rigorously contained and regulated. The construction sites of a shopping centre and an entertainment centre have shifted, and a number of existing buildings have been demolished. This has created an open connection with the city centre.

Transparent view towards the heart of the city  

The station has been given a transparent extension with a wide view over the station square. An elongated pedestrian and recreation zone links the entertainment complex, station and shopping centre. People are guided in a natural way via the Stationsstraat towards the city centre.
