Frank Smit, bim expert
has been working at cepezed since 2016. The more experience he gains, the more his passion for design expands to optimise the design process.
Frank completed his HBO Bouwkunde at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and then continued on to the Master's in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences at TU Delft. He graduated in Materialisation & Sustainability there. In 2011, in his own name, he won the BIS Design Contest for the meeting room of the future and reached third place with his design in the Competition Brasilia Athletics Stadium.
What Frank appreciates in cepezed is the realisation of high-quality architecture through innovative multidisciplinary integration of building elements, limiting the used material to the essentials only.
This approach also applies to existing buildings. The ArsenaalDelft is a redevelopment of a national monumental complex in the historic heart of Delft. Frank's focus here was the combination of an elaborate digital model with prefabricated building elements. This results in a short construction time and remountable structure for the various new functions in this national monument.
