Larissa simultaneously completed two HBO courses. ‘Spatial design’ at the Willem de Kooning academy - which is somewhere between interior architecture and architecture - and ‘Bouwkunde’ where Larissa gained her technical knowledge and skills. She learned to combine this in the Architecture and Technology pre-master at the Academy of Architecture in Rotterdam.
The essence of Larissa's thesis project was about how architecture should not be about building new icons, but looking at what is needed from the environment. She developed a tool with which municipal employees can better weigh the need for high-rise buildings, per issue. With this, Larissa won the Rotterdam ‘dempelprijs’ for young talent.
When cepezedinterieur is involved in a cepezed project, they are included early on in the design process. The strong blending of the architecture and interior disciplines at cepezed really appeals to Larissa. 'I believe in the power of both principles being included in projects. This is how you achieve the best designs for timeless, trendless buildings and interiors' says Larissa.
One project Larissa is particularly proud of is the interior concept of vu-ab, where reused interiors made a sustainable design. This requires a different design process, where you design with existing materials and create a whole that suits the identity of the user.
