olaf van dam, architectural engineer 

Olaf completed the Architecture bachelor Cum Laude at the Hogeschool Rotterdam in the summer of 2023. Here, he specialised in Construction and Design with a minor in Renovation and Transformation. During his studies, Olaf completed an internship and worked as a working student at Mei Architects and Planners. He brings his gained experience in integral design for users and the environment to cepezed.

Olaf's interests align neatly with cepezed's values and working methods. During his graduation, for instance, he already researched a subject, which we find in the modular thesis of cepezed founder Jan Pesman 'the heiwo house'. Olaf researched modular additions to post-war flats to quickly and efficiently add housing to the existing housing stock in highly urbanised areas.

Olaf is comfortable with the 'no nonsense mentality' of cepezed. He appreciates that cepezed's multidisciplinary character makes it special that it has a large amount of specialised knowledge at its disposal. He also sees the broad field reflected in the different types of projects. For instance, he is proud of his contribution to the Squadron project, where he loved to contribute to the design of a maritime air base.
