Oscar has been working at cepezed since 2023. He puts a lot of attention and patience into detailing and is very driven to elaborate a technically high standard design.
Oscar completed the HBO Bachelor's in Architecture at the Hogeschool Amsterdam and the Master's in Architecture at TU Delft, majoring in Architectural Engineering. In his thesis, he transformed a former tax office building into a residential mixed-use facility. The goal? An adaptive building, able to meet spatial demands in both the present and future within a changing context. Oscar fulfilled this with a concept for an adaptable spatial organisation. With mostly reused demountable and remountable façade elements, the design is resistant to future unpredictable change.
Oscar recognises his own approach in the cepezed methodology, in which adaptive buildings are designed. Here, the relationship between building and existing context is emphasised with the user as the main subject. This way of thinking was also at the core of his graduation project. What also appeals to him in cepezed is the drive to deliver quality in the execution of a technically advanced design.
A project Oscar is proud of his contribution to is education location Laan op Zuid. He experienced the project as very educational because of ‘the spaciousness and special elements in the design, such as the sports rooftop, the roof garden, programmable ceilings and the podium stairs in the atrium’.
