Robbert has a variety of educations in his pocket, including MTS and HTS in construction engineering. He completed his master's degree in Public Building at Delft University of Technology.
Both cepezed and Robert have a predilection for designing with themes such as circularity and sustainability.
At his first project at cepezed, Robbert worked on the phased new construction of the Medisch Centrum Alkmaar in Heerhuguwaard, a very complex project in technique, programme and specialist functions.
Another extraordinary project Robbert worked on is the design of the Theatre Speelhuis in Helmond. The theatre was urgently looking for a new accommodation after the previous building burned down in 2011. There was a demand for a temporary replacement in the 'Onze Lieve Vrouwe Tenhemelopneming' church, a national monument. All interventions were reversible and the character and appearance of the domed church was preserved by placing loose prefabricated elements such as the stands and stage 'loose' in the church. An empty building was succesfully transformed into an atmospheric theatre in record time. Meanwhile, it is in use as a permanent theatre.
