saskia monen, architect

Saskia has been working at cepezed since 2020. Her power to empathise with a user strengthens her designs.

Lucasvanderwee

Saskia graduated in Architectural Engineering at the Technical University in Delft. During her graduation research, she investigated vertical gardens, both inside and outside buildings. Here, she specifically studied the effects on the indoor climate and on the users' mental state through, for example, the air-purifying effect of plants.

The no-nonsense mentality and the focus on users really appeal to Saskia in cepezed. After all, she believes that 'good architecture puts the user first. Their long-term satisfaction is essential for a building's durability'. When users are happy with their building, you strengthen the intrinsic motivation to treat and care for it well.

Saskia is very proud of, among others, the Haarlemmermeer town hall. At the town hall, a lot of puzzling with spaces had to be done to achieve an optimally integrated building. Saskia finds this puzzling extremely interesting. A lot of time was spent and eventually this led to a result Saskia is very proud of. Another project Saskia is proud of is Plus Ultra Utrecht. This was the first tender she picked up independently and also won immediately.
