Wouter started his career in construction as a constructional engineer, but decided to continue studying when the economic crisis hit. During the Bachelor of Architecture in Den Bosch, he specialised in BIM, which he adapted working at Inbo. Here, Wouter worked mainly on residential towers for six years, with external (international) architects. Here, he was involved in the projects from the building application to the execution-ready design.
Wouter saw many different reasons to join cepezed. ‘cepezed is a relatively large well-established firm, with a pleasant social culture and a high level of involvement until the final stages’ says Wouter. He sees a resemblance in his integral approach to modelling with cepezed's integral thinking.
The first project in which Wouter performs as project leader is DSM food and baverage. Here, he can use his experience on the executive side towards contact with the contractor. What he enjoys is that every choice can be visible on the construction site a week later, which for Wouter is a ‘short trail’.
Wouter also works on the university of applied sciences of Amsterdam, which he considers a very educational project. To a large extent, he sees here that ‘technical thinking goes far at cepezed, to achieve ultimate integration.’
